A little late but now I'm gonna talk about Ecuador.
I think Ecuador has one of the coolest cementaries I've ever seen. Why? Because they cut the bushes to figures. It could also be a Park :-)
The first night we spend in Otavalo and we visited the surrounding area. We got invited by a weaver and he showed us his work. Incredible. One carpet needs one day and everything is made by hand.
Next stop was Quito. A huge city, with a historic center and a lot of churches. Quite nice but still a huge city... so we went to Baños de Agua Santa. Or short Baños, that means toilet or washroom. :-)
Here I did Puenting. Suuuuuper cool. Adrenalin!
And because this town is famous for its thermal baths we went 3 times in the evening, taking cold shower under a waterfall going back into the warm water. Love it.
Finally we left Baños through the Amazonian part. Green everywhere, endless forest, great.
We didn't went into the jungle, because we do that in Bolivia....
Last stop was Loja, cultural city with live concert every thursday. There we got invited to a afterparty with some locals. Thanks guys was great fun.

We had a good time in Ecuador and we might go back one day :-)

Hi friends and family,
After around 3 weeks in Colombia we're now in Ecuador.
In Colombia we met us again, after 2 weeks seperation. Patrick was in Panama and as far as I can say that, he had a good time. Meanwhile I visited you guys back home in Germany. My time was amazing. Seeing all my family and my friends.
Now together we travelled from Bogota, Manizales, Desert of Tatacoa, San Agostin, Coconuco, Pasto to Ipiales and there we crossed the border.
Bogota was cool. Fiestas, culture and old friends. Marius, a friend from Patricks study arrived by accident 2 days after us. And because we learned to convince people, we conviced him to travel south with us.... so we went together to the Salt Cathedral in Zipaquira and then Manizales was the next stop. Beautiful countryside while enjoying hotsprings. Next day we went to see a neigbour city and the countryside.
The Desert of Tatacoa is a red desert. Amazing but incredible hot.... uff!
To cool down we 3 went together to San Agostin to learn about ancient culture and have some party again. Because afterwards our ways splitted up. We went further south and Marius booked a flight from Bogota to Lima.
Coconuco is a small town. Nothing special, but to avoid an other big city and feel the local life!
Pasto is famous for it's Carnival, which is in January.... therefor the city has THOUSANDS of Hotels... because we're going to miss the carnival we went into the Museo del Carnival. Colourful! I wanna go back there once...
And the last stop is famous for the beautiful cathedral las lajas. The city is nothing special... :-) but there were elections and the city was full of people!

Now we're in Ecuador.... today Otavalo, tomorrow Quito.
