Tadpat on the way

Hi guys!!!
Our plan to leave Flores by ferry was not the best we had!!!! In September University in Indonesia starts again!!! Thats the reason our ferry was more than overfilled!!!
We stepped on the boat which normally should host around 1000 people!!! But THIS boat was covered by locals going back to Makassar University!!!! We estimate around 3 to 4 tousand people on bord!!!
We took some pictures! This one is a picture of the cameradisplay... i'm going to load up the original when it's possible!!!



In Sulawesi itself we only have around 2 weeks!!! We already saw Bira Beach!!! Full of garbage but they build the best boats in Indonesia and that was interessting to see!!!
At the moment we are in Tana Toraja. It's a region where they have a really natural culture and it is still possible to see!!!
We didn't join one of this funeral ceremonies because they kill buffalos and pigs as a ritual!!! We don't want to see the slaughtery!!!

Now we are on the way to Manado. From there our flight will go. So we are flexible to visit Pulau Bunaken, ment to be a great place for diving and snorkeling!!!

You see we are fine!

Only thing is I miss you!!!
And cheese, bread, good wine/beer and my own kitchen :-)

Hi guys!
A few days before we arrived in Flores. One of the most beautiful places here in Flores are the Kalimutu lakes. These are 3 lakes which changes the colours from time to time (allmost every 10 days!!!!) When we had been there, one of the rocks around the crater edge fall into the water! It sounded very interesting and scary, especially because we just find out later what happend!!!! And because of the minerals in the stone, the lake now changes its colour again!!! Now the lake changed from turkis to slighly yellow!!!



On the way back we visited a traditional village with our private car, which we shared with two german gils. We met Larissa and Pauline on our way to Flores and continued travelling together!!!

After the Kelimutu lakes we went to Bajawa. There we again visited a traditional village and a natural hot spring! The hot spring was great. It was two rivers meeting there, one really hot and one cold!!!



Now we are in Ruteng, saw the spiderweb-rice fields!!!
Tomorrow we go back to Labuan Bajo! And because we have one day there, before our ferry to sulawesi leaves we MAY go diving!!! Need to check out the prices :-)

Hi,
In Yogyakarta they offer tour packages to do Gunung Bromo and Gunung Ijen in 3 days until Denpasar, Bali. Again climbing the Vulcanoes through the night to see the sunrise!!! I think the Indonesians are keen on sunrises :-)
But we didn't want to pay the package, because you pay always more than without. So we did the same tour but we organized everything on our own!
At Gunung Bromo we had a couch where we slept for 2 or 3 hours. We found the viewpoint. And it was a beautiful sunrise.





Than around 2 hours later we tried to get to our next busstop! But the local bus only leaves if there are 16 people in it. We had been 6 and it would have taken ages until the bus would left.... So we stopped private cars and asked them. After 5 minutes we found someone who took us down to the village with the busterminal!

Then we needed to get the right bus (with the right price) to our next destination Bangiwangi, where also the ferry to Bali leaves. In a hotel Patrick organized a car and then again climbing the vulcano by night. This time we were unlucky. Rainy, foggy, no beautiful sunrise and no blue fire! :-( thats nature!!!

The car droped us at the ferry station and in Bali Patrick needed to bargain hard for the bus to Denpasar. Finally we are in Kuta now. Here we need to wait for our passports, because we get the visaextension!!! (Also we are 3 days too late :-) great)

Thats it so far. We relax at the beach now!
