EL SALVADOR
tadpat22, 19:05h
Hi guys,
After Guatemala we went to El Salvador. Small country, big population, fascinating landscape and a hughe history (not so long time ago....).
In El Salvador we started in Cara Sucia. That's spanish and significates dirty face! The town itself small and unspectacular! But from there we went to the National Park El Impossible.
We have some theories why they called the park like that.
1. The forest is so dense that it is impossible to go off the trails and into the jungle
2. Or because it's impossible to see a lot of wildlife (especially pumas or other cats)
3. Or maybe because it is almost impossible to reach the park with puplic transportation. :-)
But we made it and we've been the only ones in the park. We heard some animals in the bushes and even saw an amadrillo! Super cool and amazing nature!
The next stop was La Libertad on the seaside. The beaches are not really for swimming, because they are rocky and high waves also there is no shadow on the beach! But we had fun watching the surfers and the ones who wanna learn surfing.
Because it's super hot there we decided to go up in the montains a little. The town we were heading to is called Alegria. But we only made into the neighbourtown which was also nice and the hotelprices were cheaper! :-) So we went to Alegria and Berlin as daytrips. YES, we've been in Berlin! :-)
One of our favourite stops was San Francisco de Gotera. A nice authentic town and close to Perquin. In Perquin we went to learn about El Salvadors history. Super sad why and what happend and you can still see the bomb craters!!! If your interested there's a lot information in the internet (for example the massacre in El Mozote)!!!
In El Salvador we had super delicious food. Fresh fish and PUPUSAS. We love them. It's like a small pancake stuffed with something (normally cheese and beens! We also had fish, other vegetables and shrimps) Yummi.
Now we're in Honduras. Internet is not in all hotels accessible but soon we'll go to Nicaragua we'll see about Internet situation there!
Cheers,
Tadpat.
Since we didn't had a computer to connect with the tablet, no photos yet!
